Marc R. Tyrey
Marc R. Tyrey was born in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from Guilford College, Greensboro, North Carolina, having
earned a double major in the studies of Political Science and Justice and Policy Studies. He earned his J.D. from
Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law where he graduated cum laude. During law school, he was
a member of the Law Review, ATLA Trial Team and was elected by his peers to serve as a representative on the school’s
Student Bar Association.
Mr. Tyrey served as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of North Carolina in the 18th Judicial
District (Guilford County) from 1998 to 2001. During his service as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Tyrey prosecuted
both misdemeanors and felonies, and gained extensive experience in criminal law and criminal process. From 2001 to
August 2005, Mr. Tyrey was engaged in private practice in High Point where he focused on civil litigation. Mr. Tyrey
presently represents clients charged with felonies, misdemeanors, and/or traffic offenses, and handles a variety of
civil litigation matters, including complex business litigation, will disputes, real property disputes and negligence
cases.
Mr. Tyrey is admitted to practice in all state courts in North Carolina, as well as the federal courts
in the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, High Point
Bar Association, and a barrister in the Guilford Inn of Court.
